What's the best way to handle cyber bullying via search engine results?

I'm well aware of most precautions and steps, but someone has linked my name to discriminatory word pairings via search engines. The sites that show up are spam like sites, some forums/blogs with a bunch of random words, etc. Not full blown sites. How does someone go about doing that anyways? When I've scanned the site then proceeded to find the webmaster there was no contact, etc. Any suggestions? This is stemming from a mental dumped ex, and has me worrisome due to my career in the public.
